Washington, D.C. to host WorldPride May 17-June 8

From May 17-June 8, Washington, DC will become the epicentre of global LGBTQ+ celebration, hosting WorldPride, an event that promises to be a beacon of unity, diversity, and resilience.
At the heart of this monumental gathering is the largest LGBTQ+ music festival in history, featuring an electrifying two-day extravaganza across three stages. This ultimate global dance party will showcase diverse, mind-blowing talent and cutting-edge art, catering to every musical taste from House to Pop, Drag to Techno.

About WorldPride

The festivities begin with the Welcome Concert on May 30 featuring Shakira. The Capital Cup Sports Festival, DC Black Pride, an International March and Rally on Washington, and much more will take place.
In addition to the kickoff, the World Pride Music Festival will include headliner Jennifer Lopez, plus Troye Sivan, RuPaul, Tinashe and Sasha Colby. While this is a ticketed event, the hallmark events of Capital Pride – the parade, street festival & concert – will take place as always – free and open to all on June 7 and 8.
But the festival isn’t just about entertainment; it’s a powerful statement of visibility and solidarity.
Complementing the rhythm and beats, Taste of Pride (ToP) is a multi-month culinary celebration running from January 30 to July 31, honouring the LGBTQ+ community and the diverse flavors throughout DC’s neighbourhoods. This new event highlights the connection between food and pride, featuring curated menus from top chefs and restaurants. In collaboration with DC’s Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), ToP showcases the city’s unique culinary talents across vibrant neighbourhoods. Proceeds support the Pride365 Fund, benefiting LGBTQ+ organizations.

50th anniversary celebrations

As the first WorldPride hosted in the United States capital, this event carries profound significance. It marks the 50th anniversary of Pride celebrations in Washington, DC, a city steeped in the history of LGBTQ+ rights and advocacy.
In a time when unity and understanding are more crucial than ever, WorldPride DC 2025 stands as a testament to the strength and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
As millions gather from across the globe, WorldPride DC 2025 will amplify voices, foster dialogue, and create lasting connections that transcend borders and politics. It’s an invitation to be part of a historic moment that will resonate far beyond the festival’s final notes.
