As part of the ongoing focus on showcasing the Mexico adventure product to travel agents and tour operators, the second annual Adventure Travel Mexico (ATMEX) show will take place in the state of Veracruz August 14-17, 2013, with pre-show adventure fam trips throughout the country August 11-13. The international trade and consumer adventure travel fair is a joint effort between the Mexico Tourism Board, the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and the state of Veracruz.
Founded in 2009, tour operator RED Sustainable Travel continues to expand its offerings, all focused on the concept that conservation and socioeconomic wellbeing go hand in hand. Based in Baja California Sur, RED takes conservation projects, such as sea turtle monitoring, and turns them into conservation adventures for clients who want to combine adventure with helping to foster sustainable economic alternatives and community development.
Clients who are impressed by Arizona’s Grand Canyon will be even more stunned by Mexico’s Copper Canyon in the Sierra Madre mountains in the southwest part of the state of Chihuahua. The six canyons that make up Copper Canyon are bigger than the Grand Canyon and in some parts, deeper too. To give visitors an upclose look at the canyon, Copper Canyon Adventure Park debuted in the fall of 2010 with a gondola and seven ziplines. Coming soon will be one of the world’s longest zip riders.
"Mexico has a world-class product in the adventure realm with so many options throughout the country—and the advantage of being right next to the U.S. The upcoming ATMEX show promises to be a great event for U.S. travel agents and tour operators to learn about the Mexico adventure product."
