Travel Masters Acquires Altec Travel
Vancouver’s Travel Masters has acquired Altec Travel’s retail division – a move that is part of the company’s growth and acquisition strategy.
Altec Travel was established in 1978 and is an independent travel agency and a consolidator representing all the major airlines departing from Vancouver.
This agency serves clients all over British Columbia with a strong base in corporate travel, safari and cruises.
James Shearer, chief operating officer at Travel Masters, explained: “With two travel agency acquisitions in the first half of 2017, we are firmly setting our sights on ensuring this be a bumper growth year for us.”
Shearer pointed out that: “Our advancement strategy is starting to yield positive results already and as our industry continues to see consolidation agencies like Altec Travel make for an excellent fit that benefits all parties involved.”
Altec Travel’s owner, Ruben Grubner said that after 39 years running his own agency, he felt that it was the right time to release himself from running an agency and, instead, focus more on selling.
Said Grubner: “I am thrilled to have joined up with a progressive, responsive company like Travel Masters in Vancouver. They are there to provide support, information and help when needed.”
In addition to Grubner, Travel Masters welcomed five travel consultants across Western Canada to their growing family last month.
Rouillanda Laplante, Shamshad Hassam and Marie Yakemchuk joined the Head Office as home agents.
Jennifer Malm recently started with our Kelowna agency and our Calgary agency welcomed Jagretti Jayal to their expanding team.
