Thorsen Named Sustainability Lead At FCM Consulting
With sustainability moving to the top of the business agenda and more and companies join the race to net zero, FCM Consulting is boosting its own capabilities to help clients address their environmental aims, appointing Glenn Thorsen as Sustainability Lead – FCM Consulting.
The arrival of Thorsen to lead a new dedicated customer-facing practice specializing in sustainability represents the first significant structural change made by consultancy head Jo Lloyd, as she reshapes the business for post-pandemic success.
Said Lloyd: “Glenn’s entrepreneurial mindset, passion and deep knowledge of this incredibly important area will be invaluable in supporting our customers on their sustainability journeys. As the customer and industry facing voice of the sustainability pillar within FCM Consulting, he will apply his considerable expertise to help our clients get the best out of their programs and achieve their goals. I know he will make an immediate impact.”
Denmark-based Thorsen begins his new position in early September and strengthens a highly skilled global team of subject-matter experts spanning key areas such as travel sourcing, program optimization, payment solutions, and more, who apply their considerable know-how advising clients from small enterprises through to global corporations.
Previously Head of Partnerships for Thrust Carbon, Thorsen is a well-known and respective figure across the global sustainability community where he drove awareness and adoption of the emissions intelligence platform across the corporate travel industry. A natural innovator with a strong start-up and enterprise background, he brings wide-ranging consultancy skills honed across a diverse range of industry sectors mostly within the lifestyle tech space to this new role.
Along with his consulting responsibilities, Thorsen will support FCM’s internal efforts in this key area, collaborating with Global Sustainability Officer Michelle Degenhardt as she further develops and oversees the execution of strategies to deliver on the organization’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.
“Sustainability is an area that is extremely important to FCM, its people, customers, and partners. I am thrilled to welcome Glenn to our global team of experts as we build upon our vast array of programmes and initiatives and progress towards a better, more sustainable future,” said Degenhardt.
