Sunwing Loves Cuba
Cuba’s tourist trade was front and centre at a May 24 Toronto Sunwing event appropriately promoted as Sunwing Loves Cuba.
The event featured hotel companies with a Cuban presence, the Cuba Tourist Board and, of course, Sunwing representatives, all there to update travel agents on what they can provide their clients.

Cuba is a top destination for Sunwing travellers, and we’re excited to continue making noise around this fantastic paradise and encourage Canadians to experience all it has to offer,” said Deana Murphy, vice president of retail sales at Sunwing Travel Group, which has a large Cuban presence.
Sunwing currently has incentives for booking Cuba, stating, “We’re celebrating Travel Agent Appreciation Day all month long by offering 12% commission on all eligible*Cayo Largo bookings made between May 2, 2023 and May 31, 2023 for getaways from May 5, 2023 to Oct. 27, 2023. But that’s not all! It’s the summer of savings for travellers looking to head to paradise and this destination is the pick of the litter. Your clients can enjoy reduced rates and no single supplement fees, free room upgrades when they book at select Blue Diamond Resorts properties in Cayo Largo by June 30, 2023, plus groups get their 6th passenger free when they book by June 30, 2023. All this for travel by Oct. 27, 2023.”
Another incentive has Sunwing telling travel agents that, “We love a good do-it-yourself project! Agents can now earn an additional 2% commission on DIY group bookings! It’s quick, convenient and all the rage. Here’s what you need to know: Book a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 30 people travelling together (including children) using system rates (you can book in your system or call our Sales Centre) across multiple booking numbers. Bookings must be travelling on the same day to the same hotel.”
It notes that: “All names are required at the time of booking. Email all booking numbers together to [email protected] to receive an additional 2% commission. Regular individual deposit, payment and booking terms and conditions apply! Applicable for bookings made within 60 days of departure unless otherwise advised, for travel until Nov. 30, 2023. Offer includes standard vacation packages or flight only bookings with Sunwing Airlines. It is not applicable to e-packages.”
As well: “Canadians can head to their favourite Caribbean island for a sun-soaked getaway and save up to 60% off per person during the Sunwing Loves Cuba. Terms and conditions apply.
