StudentUniverse Expands Into Canada
StudentUniverse, Flight Centre Travel Group’s (FCTG) online travel booking platform for students, has expanded into Canada.
Through negotiations with a network of global partners, StudentUniverse offers exclusive pricing and terms on flights, hotels and tours. Headquartered in Boston and with offices in London, the Philippines and Australia, StudentUniverse empowers students and youth to travel the world.
Part of FCTG’s overall expansion plans and efforts to strengthen its online presence globally, StudentUniverse’s Canadian launch will give young travellers across the country the ability to easily access student and youth-only flight deals online.
Launched in the US in 2000, StudentUniverse has grown to become a leading global player in the student travel sector. The business, which offers exclusive flight and travel deals to the student and youth markets, expanded into the United Kingdom in 2013 and was acquired by FCTG in 2015.
StudentUniverse’s Managing Director Mike Cleary said the launch was a logical step in developing and expanding StudentUniverse’s services to a global market.
Said Cleary: “Canada is the fastest growing study abroad destination, so it makes sense for us to be there – particularly at a time when students are looking for great value, 24-hour support, and an ability to get home.”
He continued: “We’re very excited about our entry into Canada and we look forward to bringing our superior online experience and exclusive deals to this important region.”
Canada is among the top three regions for international students and students studying abroad.
As an advocate for students, StudentUniverse leverages digital channels and meta partners to deliver better pricing and content that other companies and customers don’t get access to.
There are no membership fees and no cost to sign up. Users simply register as a StudentUniverse member and can immediately begin booking travel.
