Student travel conference coming to Toronto
The Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) has announced the SYTA Annual Conference will be held in Toronto, Aug. 22-26.
The conference is the premier marketplace dedicated to the student and youth travel industry, bringing tour operators and suppliers together to grow business opportunities. During the event, SYTA will unveil the results of the Student and Youth Travel Digest, the first in a series of research initiatives that aim to help the student and youth travel industry achieve the recognition it deserves.
Tour operators, travel agents or suppliers that serve the student and youth travel industry and seek to grow their business are invited to attend. The conference offers its members business trade appointments that provide the opportunity to meet with nearly 200 operators and 600 suppliers, educational sessions aimed at increasing knowledge of the student and youth travel market and its current trends, and social events allowing members to network and converse with clients and peers.
Student travel is a $185 billion industry and accounts for 20% of all global tourism. The United States is the number one source market for Canada with 11.9 million overnight trips, and student travel is predicted to double its value in less than 10 years. SYTA’s philosophy is “Travel is essential to a complete education.” Therefore, SYTA seeks to develop young people into global citizens and the travellers of tomorrow, through educational and cultural travel opportunities.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the largest fundraising week for the SYTA Youth Foundation . Events include a golf classic, Dance Your Meal Off, and a silent auction.
