SHERATON MAUI CELEBRATES 50 CLASSIC YEARS
Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa continues its year-long 50th Anniversary celebration with a special pre fixe family style dinner at 6 p.m. on Aug. 11. The event, 50 Classic Years of Sheraton Maui, treats guests to an evening celebrating the rich lifestyle and fanfare the resort has enjoyed since its 1963 opening. Located beachfront on Ocean Lawn, 50 Classic Years of Sheraton Maui will showcase the signature styles of the resort’s 1963 opening. Amongst the evening highlights include a vintage car display by Maui Classic Cruisers and models exhibiting resort fashions of the popular Hawaiian designer Tori Richard. Guests will be entertained by performing trio Leokani, the legacy of Discovery Room entertainer Danny Kapoi Trio, while enjoying a family style dinner with iconic Pu’u Keka’a in the background. As a nod to the year that the resort first welcomed visitors, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa’s Executive Chef Greg Gaspar has prepared a four-course feast for $19.63 p.p. The inspired menu includes chilled papaya wrapped with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes stuffed with Maine Bay shrimp, Waipoli greens with grilled Big Island hearts of palm with passion fruit vinaigrette. The main course includes Hawaii Rancher’s grilled rib eye steak with Ali’i mushrooms and Tahitian pepper spiced pan roasted pacific salmon. Dessert will include Fuji Apple fruit tarts with Vermont cheddar cheese, Hawaiian sweet bread pudding with chocolate sauce and assorted anniversary petite fours. A cash bar will serve beer, wine, cocktails, and the special anniversary Makana cocktail. Seating is limited. (http://www.sheraton-maui.com)
