Dubrovnik is certainly on many a travel wish list today. The spectacular Croatian town is a UNESCO world heritage site, a booming cruise destination, an “up and coming destination for Canadians,” according to Transat Holidays, and, if that isn’t enough, the setting for King’s Landing in the wildly popular Game of Thrones TV series.

Filming began on Friday for season five of the series, with a Dubrovnik fortress decked out in Lannister colours and visitors and locals alike preening for celebrity sightings, reports PressToday correspondent Mike Baginski.
