Sea House Gets ‘Happy’ on Maui
The beachfront Sea House Restaurant, located on beautiful Napili Bay in West Maui, has received top honours for “Best Happy Hour” in the 2015 ‘Aipono culinary awards.
The ‘Aipono Restaurant Awards annually recognize the best of Maui’s food, wine and hospitality industries as determined by readers of Maui No Ka ‘Oi. The Sea House claimed the top Gold award for Best Happy Hour and Silver for Best Oceanfront Dining.
Since 2004, the Sea House has won 11 Gold and Silver ‘Aipono Awards including Gold for Most Romantic Restaurant (2004), Best-kept Secret (2010, 2012), Best Breakfast (2011), Most “Maui-est” (2014), and Best Bar (2014). In addition, last month the Sea House was named one of Hawaii’s top five “Best Hotel/Resort Restaurants” and “Best Restaurants for Breakfast” in Hawaii Magazine’s Third Annual Reader’s Choice Awards.
The landmark Sea House celebrated its 50th anniversary and underwent an extensive renovation last year. It is one of Maui’s only truly “beach front” restaurants – guests dine at the water’s edge and can literally step out of the restaurant directly into the sand.
The restaurant’s popular Happy Hour takes place daily from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., featuring reduced prices and an extensive menu of specialty drinks and creative island-style pupus (appetizers) such as Molokai Sweet Potato Quesadilla, Kalua Pork Taco, Poke Nachos, Coconut Shrimp, and Toasted Mushroom Raviloi.
