Rocky Mountaineer Is Back On Track

While it was forced to suspend its entire 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rocky Mountaineer is back and, as you can imagine, is delighted to be able to get back to doing what they do best, which is welcoming guests on its trains.

This month, Rocky Mountaineer will be operating a reduced schedule as it ramps up operations to offer the full schedule in August.

With domestic travel expected to recover first, Rocky Mountaineer is focusing on reaching more Canadians to encourage them to consider travelling with the rail company this summer and to that end, has a number of special promotions targeted exclusively to Canadians.

Programs include:

  • Rocky Mountaineer has partnered with Fairmont to offer savings of up to $2,900 per couple on packages that pair the train with overnight stays in Fairmont properties.
  • Its Alberta-BC resident offer: travel on a rail journey this year and receive a voucher to travel again within the next five years.
  • It’s Canadian resident offer: Save up to $1,400 per couple on vacation packages of five days or more.

Even better, Rocky Mountaineer also has an incentive for Canadian travel agents – when an agent secures three new 2021 bookings on Rocky Mountaineer’s Canadian routes, they will earn a complimentary vacation package for their own travel on Rocky Mountaineer

Safety First

Rocky Mountaineer is committed to safety. The company points out that it has looked at every aspect of its operations to consider what it needed to modify in order to meet the regulations and guidelines associated with COVID-19. To that end, Rocky Mountaineer is making sure guests and the onboard team feel safe and secure while travelling.

Every guest and team member travelling on the train will undergo extensive health screening, including a rapid COVID-19 screening test before the start of the train journey. It has put thorough sanitization and disinfection procedures in place.

Rocky Mountaineer’s train cars are equipped with high-end air filtration systems that remove 99.9% of airborne viruses and bacteria, and ensure a steady intake and circulation of fresh air. And it has adjusted operations to ensure more space between travel groups and added glass barriers between tables in the dining room.
