Puerto Plata In Tune With New Amphitheatre

Travellers in search of live, outdoor music now have another reason to visit the north coast of the Dominican Republic, with the recent opening of the Tourism and Landscape Park of La Puntilla and Puerto Plata Amphitheatre.

Located adjacent to the historic Fort San Felipe, the new venue offers views of the ocean and has a capacity for 4,000 people. It will serve as a platform for music, theatre, dance performances and movies.

Puerto Plata has increased in popularity over the past few years. According to officials from the Dominican Republic’s Puerto Plata Tourism Cluster, tourist arrivals surged in 2015 as visitors to the city increased 11.5% year-over-year.
