Two German-speaking cities found in bordering countries have joined forces to attract Canadian travellers. The tourist boards for Vienna and Berlin together held a Toronto reception Thursday, updating industry personnel on all that’s happening in the destinations and what’s upcoming, with imminent attractions for winter visitors including Christmas markets. “At the end of the day, we really think it makes sense that Canadians visit both cities,” said Kirsten Schmidt of Visit Berlin, who added that Berlin and Vienna represent the “best of Europe.” Pictured at the event are Schmidt, Anne Dollendorf of the German National Tourist Office in Canada and Astrid Pockfuss of the Vienna Tourist Board.
