There’s much ado in Vienna and Berlin these days, with delegations from the two cities holding a Toronto event last night (Oct. 25) after previously visiting Vancouver. Elke Bachner of the Vienna Tourist Board told the Toronto gathering that Hyatt and Four Seasons are among the hotel companies that have decided to open Vienna properties and the famed Vienna Boys Choir will gain its own concert hall in December. Tim Starke of Visit Berlin in turn said that night owls will enjoy Berlin, where “clubs and discos don’t really close between Thursday and Sunday.” Berlin is also gaining a new airport next year. Hans DeHaan, Canadian director for Lufthansa, praised Vienna and Berlin as “two amazing cities. Lufthansa Group developments include Austrian Airlines having its fleet refurbished by next summer, he added. Seen here are DeHaan, Bachner and Starke.
