It was definitely reason for celebration and that’s exactly what Travel Counsellors did, holding a special event to mark the official presentation of the company’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise, which recognized the company’s continued growth and overseas expansion.
More than 200 of the company’s staff and management, along with a number its long serving Travel Counsellors, gathered at its UK office to celebrate the occasion, in which Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, Warren J. Smith, presented Travel Counsellors’ chairman and founder David Speakman with the award.
And the event was also broadcast live via the company’s in-house TCTV webcast system, which ensured its global family of over 1,300 agents including those in Canada could be part of the event and celebrate the role they played in achieving the award.
The company received the accolade for International Trade having successfully brought its unique business model, which focuses on providing customers with the highest levels of personal service, to overseas markets in Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Dubai and most recently expanding into Belgium earlier this year.
Commenting on the award, Travel Counsellors’ chairman, David Speakman said: “This year we are also celebrating our 20th anniversary so it is fantastic to mark this with such a positive and prestigious recognition of how far we have come in this time. We have based our success on the foundations of integrity, care, trust and professionalism, proving that there is a need for sincere and trusted advisers that place customer care at the heart of everything they do, which is why our model has really been embraced by agents and customers in Canada and the other international markets we have expanded into. Having an event that everyone could be part of was also a nice way to recognize and say thank you to all the staff and agents globally who have played such a huge part in our success and continued international growth as a company.”
