The Jamaica Tourist Board’s Sandra Scott was on hand to welcome Sunwing’s inaugural flight between St. John’s and Montego Bay. The flight, which operated March 18, is the latest in a string of new routes to Jamaica that the operator has pioneered. St John’s is the 12th city which Sunwing now offers direct service to Montego Bay from, with further expansion being planned for next winter. Jamaican airport authorities greeted the flight with the traditional “water welcome” and a warm welcome was extended to all travellers when they disembarked the aircraft. Weekly flights from St. John’s to Montego Bay will continue every Sunday until April 22.
