VISIT FLORIDA held its Florida Morning Show in Toronto Friday morning with the event formatted on a TV show and which saw representatives of different parts of Florida interviewed on what their destination offers visitors. Among speakers was Anita Walker, Canadian representative of VisitOrlando, who reported that her destination is reinventing itself “each and every day.” Orlando is seeing the opening of 12 major attractions in 2012. Developments include a new resort at Walt Disney World, a new parade at Universal Orlando and SeaWorld’s new Turtle Trek, which enables visitors to see the likes of turtles and manta rays. A “zip-line roller coaster” that will “zip and turn and slide” is in the works, Walker continued. She also said that Orlando has numerous outlet malls for shoppers and more than 5,000 restaurants that include the world’s largest McDonald’s and celebrity chef eateries.
