A popular way to pass the time at Munich Airport is to visit the onsite Airbräu brewery. However, during the pandemic, the beer stopped flowing after travel restrictions set in and the city was in lockdown.

Rather than pouring out litres of the leftover Airbräu beer, brewmaster René Jacobsen was inspired to develop a gin-style beer spirit under the brand name “Mountain Hub Distillers.”

The end result is a gin that combines the taste of strong beer and high-percentage juniper aromas.

The limited edition “infused beer spirit” is now available at the brewery, the Mountain Hub restaurants and the Hilton Bar at Hilton Munich Airport Hotel.
