Discover America Committee Canada and Travel South USA & Brand USA hosted a sold out private reception at Hamilton Place last week with celebrity guest Rosanne Cash (r). Travel industry professionals mingled with and had the opportunity to talk with Cash, eldest daughter of Johnny Cash, prior to her concert. Cash has close ties to the travel industry with the release of the new song she wrote for a Brand USA campaign, “Land of Dreams,” which characterizes America as “A thousand shades of something new,” and identifies the appeal of the country as a place that contains everything and where everything is possible. Half of the proceeds (more than $1,000) from last night’s event were donated to a charity close to Cash’s heart, Children’s Incorporated, which has direct ties to sponsoring children in many US destinations such as Arizona, Louisiana, North Carolina and Virginia.
