The ninth annual Tee Off For Tiny Tots golf tournament took place recently at the Caledon Golf & Country Club in Inglewood, Ontario. A good time was had by all. Proceeds from the tournament go to the African Pre-Schools Society, a Canadian registered charity. In 1998, Canadian Marianne Schaubeck initiated a program to build a school for extremely impoverished tiny tots. The project came to fruition and a registered charity — African Pre-Schools Society — was born. The charity provides salaries to the teaching staff, maintenance of the buildings, books and supplies, and two wholesome meals per day for the needy children. There is now a second school, Sunshine, inaugurated in 2011 in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Between the two schools, Mazinyane and Sunshine, more than 430 impoverished children learn, play, and eat.
