Emerald Cruises is once again partnering with Canadian chef Michael Bonacini — this time for a gastronomy-themed sailing in Southern Italy aboard the 100-passenger superyacht, Emerald Azzurra.
Departing from Rome on April 4, 2023, this special departure will call on some of Southern Italy’s most beloved food destinations — Sorrento, Amalafi, Sicily, and Monopoli — before crossing the Adriatic and ending in Dubrovnik.
During the sailing, guests will be treated to exclusive culinary experiences with Chef Bonacini, including a private cocktail reception hosted by the celebrity chef; a special southern Italian inspired dinner created by Chef Bonacini; a visit to a market in Minori with a stop at Sal de Riso’s award-winning pastry shop to taste the famous Amalfi lemon dessert, Delizia al Limone; a live pasta making session on board; and a visit to a local Masseria to tour the olive groves and sample their extra virgin olive oil.
Chef Bonacini said: “Travel is such an important component to understanding the culture and history behind the foods we love. I am very much looking forward to sharing the rich traditions of southern Italian cuisine with our guests on this special sailing.”
Guests who book their cabin by June 30, 2022, will receive free, round-trip air to Europe — but Emerald Cruises urges guests who are interested to move quickly. With just 50 cabins on the intimate Emerald Azzura, the line anticipates this special itinerary will sell out long before June.
In addition to free flights, balcony suites start at CDN$8,350 per person, including gratuities, all meals including snacks by the pool, select onboard drinks, port charges, WIFI, and airport transfers.
