The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (MITUR) is reporting that the country will be ready to receive international visitors as of July 1.
July 1 is the estimated start date of Phase 4 of the de-escalation process, managed by the High-Level Commission for the Prevention and Control of Coronavirus, the government body that has ensured the implementation of special protocols across the country, including extreme precautions to ensure health and prevent infections.
“The Dominican tourism industry is ready to begin receiving visitors from July 1 in a responsible manner and in compliance with the recommendations of national and international organizations on hygiene, disinfection and social distancing,” said the Minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier García. “From the moment visitors arrive in our country, they will find that the measures implemented guarantee a safe and pleasant experience so that they can enjoy the attractions that have made us the main tourist destination in the Caribbean.”
The Ministry announced that most of the hotels in the country will operate normally as of July 1, and that different government entities have worked together with a private company developing strict safety and hygiene measures that guarantee the health of the population and tourists.
