Reykjavik last week hosted the Mid-Atlantic 2012 tourism show, an event that brought exhibitors and buyers from points throughout Icelandair’s network to the Icelandic capital, courtesy of the airline, which reported that it’s on something of a roll these days, enjoying 79.6% occupancy in 2011 and seeing 18% growth last year, with much of the growth fuelled by a 20% increase in the number of North Americans visiting Iceland in those 12 months. Seen here are Robert Keddy, (l), Icelandair’s sales manager — The Americas, and Michael Raucheisen, the carrier’s marketing and communications co-ordinator — The Americas.
