Trinidad’s annual Carnival is in full swing, with hotels full of tourists from around the world converging for the lively event. The famed attraction is drawing worldwide attention, with tourism officials telling international media that the event is “the world’s biggest party” and is one aspect to what they say is a very unique cultural side to their destination. But officials add that their destination is also a wonderful part of the world for nature enthusiasts, citing rain forest, bird watching and a host of other attributes. The officials also note that Carnival is one of many festivities that run throughout the year in Trinidad and Tobago and hope that the cultural events will attract a growing number of people to a part of the world that they say has a very distinct culture resulting from the numerous ethnic groups that make up the population.
