Anguilla tourism authorities and hoteliers provided insights into all that’s happening on the island during a Wednesday night reception in Toronto, with Dale Pusching, the destination’s Canadian director of sales, reporting Anguilla is making inroads in the Canadian market, with visitor numbers up 17% last year and a further increase posted the first half of this year. “We’re cooking with gas,” she declared. Anguilla doesn’t have any all-inclusive resorts, but the island of 14,000 residents does have 120 restaurants. All-inclusives aren’t “necessary when you have over 100 restaurants on the island. We don’t want you staying in a contained environment,” said Marie Walker, North American director for the Anguilla Tourist Board.
