Mokulele Plans for Service at Kalaeloa Airport
Mokulele Airlines reports that plans are well underway to begin air service at Kalaeloa Airport on west Oahu this summer.
Kalaeloa is located at the former Barber’s Point Naval Air Base John Rogers Field. Mokulele is working in co-operation with the state of Hawaii Department of Transportation Airports Division to target a start date of July 1, at which time Mokulele would begin offering three daily roundtrip flights between Kalaeloa (JRF) and Kahului, Maui (OGG).
In addition to completing the construction projects and other preparations required to open the new airport, Mokulele is currently working on flight scheduling and staffing. Mokulele’s new service from Kalaeloa will make air travel to and from Maui more convenient for residents of West Oahu as well as for those visiting the resorts and attractions in the island’s southwest region. When the new service begins, Kalaeloa will become the ninth airport Mokulele serves.
Special introductory airfares for Kalaeloa fares will start at $69 one way including taxes and fees.
