A Memorable Occasion

Skål Canadian Rockies and Skål Calgary squared off for the 7th Annual Memorial Golf Challenge was held at the Fairmont Banff Springs’ Stanley Thompson Course in mid-June. The annual event provides an opportunity to pay tribute to the departed members of both clubs and embrace the Skål philosophies of networking and friendship. Skål Canadian Rockies was also pleased to host 2014 SICAN President Ralph Schwartje.

The Team Scramble format pairs Canadian Rockies against Calgary players. In a close fought battle, Skål Calgary was crowned 2014 Champions with a net score of 66 versus Skål Canadian Rockies’ score of 66.7.

For those who don’t know, Skål is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. With over 16,629 members worldwide in 400 clubs and active in over 87 Nations, Skål embraces all sectors of the tourism industry including hoteliers, travel agents, airlines, attractions and tourism media.
