Major Cabinet Shuffle Sees New Tourism Minister, Transport Minister
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled a major cabinet shuffle yesterday (July 26), with two changes of note for this country’s transportation, travel and tourism industry.
Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Quebec MP representing the riding of Hochelaga, becomes Canada’s new Minister of Tourism and Minister Responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for Quebec Regions.
Randy Boissonnault, who previously held the portfolio of Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance, moves to Minister of Employment Workforce Development and Official Languages.
Pablo Rodriguez, previously Minister of Canadian Heritage, becomes Minister of Transport. Rodriguez replaces Omar Alghabra who announced earlier this week that he would not be seeking re-election in the next election and as a result would be stepping aside from cabinet.
