Lucky Vancouver advisors get the latest news from Las Vegas

The number 13 was a lucky one for Vancouver-based travel advisors recently, as that was the tally of tourism suppliers who came from Las Vegas for an evening of travel trade meetings and a meal.

They each brought a highlight package of news about each of the properties or attractions that they represented to the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.

The group of thirteen included:

  • Caesars Entertainment
  • Cirque du Soleil
  • Fontainebleau Las Vegas
  • Indigo
  • JW Marriot Las Vegas
  • Machine Guns Vegas
  • MGM Resorts International
  • Miracle Mile Shops
  • Resorts World Las Vegas
  • Sphere
  • The Venetian Las Vegas
  • Virgin Las Vegas
  • Wynn & Encore Las Vegas

They each delivered fresh and relevant product news, first at rotating round table presentations, then on stage in two separate supplier forums, during which they could field questions. In between, advisors and agents enjoyed a full sit-down dinner.

Following is some of the news that was tabled by the suppliers:

  • Indigo is now taking bookings for new guided electric car tours call GoCar. Seven GPS-guided tours of the Vegas area are offered for the two-person e-vehicles.
  • One tower at the JW Marriott Las Vegas has been renovated and will reopen in September. Work on the second tower will finish by January 2025.
  • Sphere is the newest, biggest entertainment venue in Vegas and offers the Sphere Experience show twice per day.
  • A new booking site for travel agents by the Venetian Hotel has gone online, and comprehensive renovations of the property, now underway on its 25th anniversary, will be finished soon.
  • Five shows, plus the Blue Man Group, are being offered by Cirque de Soleil in Vegas, with rates for travel agents available, and dynamic ticket pricing for clients.
  • MGM Resorts has opened a new bridge that connects the Bellagio with the Vdara and the Cosmopolitan Hotels. Also, all the rooms at New York-New York have recently been renovated. And the 700 rooms at the MGM Grand Studio Tower have recently been remodeled.

  • Janet Jackson will start a new performance residency at Resorts World Las Vegas in 2025, with Celine Dion possibly to follow.
