Los Cabos is getting more direct flights from Canada this fall/winter
Los Cabos invites Canadian travellers to bask in its sun-drenched beauty, with pristine beaches and breathtaking landscapes awaiting those seeking an ideal getaway.
This fall/winter season, Los Cabos will see an increase in direct flights, making it easier than ever for Canadians to enjoy an exceptional escape filled with luxury, adventure, and relaxation.
Airline lift from Canada
According to the Los Cabos Tourism Board, airline seat capacity from Canada is projected to reach 1.24 million for the remainder of the year, reflecting a three per cent increase over the same period in 2023.
As the second-largest international market after the United States, Canadian travellers play a crucial role in the region’s tourism and cultural vibrancy.
Rodrigo Esponda, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, highlights the strong performance of Canadian tourism. Across the country this year visits from Vancouver are leading the way with 42 per cent of flights originating there, followed by Calgary at 25 per cent, Toronto at 15 per cent and Edmonton at nine per cent. With a direct flight starting in December by Air Canada, visits originating in Montreal are expected to rise dramatically.
The role of travel advisors
Travel advisors continue to be pivotal in guiding travellers to Los Cabos, with 30 per cent of visitors booking through these experts.
At the recent Virtuoso Travel Week conference, Esponda showcased the region’s attractions, including the vibrant Cabo Pulmo National Park, renowned for its thriving coral reefs.
