Kissimmee Shines
From world famous theme parks to having a true Florida experience in the great outdoors, Experience Kissimmee’s new president and CEO highlighted the destination during an industry luncheon in Toronto on May 21.
“One day you can be in the shadow of the world’s most famous castle and the next day you can be kayaking the headwaters of the Everglades in the shadows of 200-300-year-old Cypress trees,” said DT Minich, speaking for the first time in Toronto in his new role. “ Kissimmee also goes back and forth with an area in Alaska with having the highest American bald eagle population in North America.”
Presented by Experience Kissimmee and VoX International Inc., the event featured partners from CND Homes, Fun Spot, Ramada Gateway and Westgate Resort.
Stressing the importance of the Canadian market, Minich says the city has a diverse product in terms of hotels, accommodations and villas.
“We are the vacation home rental capital of the world,” he said. “We are adding 1,000 new vacation homes over the next 12 months, most of them right outside the gates of Disney.”
On hand at the event held at the Soho Metropolitan Hotel (l-r) are DT Minich and Dannielle Dunn of Experience Kissimmee, Rossy Valerio of Westgate Resorts, Kathleen Glace of Magic Village Resort, Allyssa Anderson of Fun Spot America – Kissimmee, Nori Rodriguez of Experience Kissimmee, Andrew Ricketts of VoX International, Andrew Schiavone of Ramada Kissimmee Gateway Hotel and Cari Marotta of VoX International.
