The all-clear has been issued for Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac following the passage of Hurricane Beryl yesterday (July 4), with no reports of injuries to residents or visitors on any of the three Islands.

All airports, including the Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman, and the Charles KirkConnell International Airport in Cayman Brac as well as seaports are opened. Clean-up operations are also currently underway across the country to ensure the well-being of residents and visitors.

Hon. Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, Premier of the Cayman Islands, said: “Thanks to the many prayers from those at home and abroad, the comprehensive preparedness efforts led by the government in collaboration with our weather forecasting and disaster management agencies, we have been able to safeguard the lives of our community.”

The Premier continued: “Now that the hurricane has passed beyond our shores, our focus has shifted to recovery and restoration, to enable normal life to return as swiftly as possible.”

Premier O’Connor-Connolly added: “Recognizing that our islands have been extremely fortunate to have experienced only minor damage from this powerful storm, we remain deeply concerned for our Caribbean neighbours who have faced severe destruction. The Cayman Islands Government extends its heartfelt support and solidarity to all those affected by Hurricane Beryl, and we are committed to aiding our neighbours in their recovery efforts.”

In providing an update on the tourism sector, Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Minister for Tourism and Ports said: “I am thankful that our thorough preparations have paid off and I am pleased to report that all airports and seaports, the Cayman Islands major attractions, hotels, and restaurants have not sustained significant damage. While there may be minor inconveniences due to ongoing clean-up, we expect our tourism sector to be fully operational and ready to welcome new visitors within the next 48 hours. We look forward to inviting all travellers to experience the warmth, beauty and hospitality that the Cayman Islands is known for, and we are dedicated to making their stays as special as possible.”
