Homewood Suites to Open in Santo Domingo
Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement to introduce its Homewood Suites by Hilton brand – an upscale, all-suite, extended-stay offering – to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Scheduled to open in 2017, the new-build 120-room Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo represents both the brand’s first hotel in the Caribbean and first hotel designed in line with its Caribbean and Latin America prototype.
“The signing of Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo is a great milestone as it introduces a new Hilton Worldwide brand to the Caribbean and our third hotel in the Dominican Republic,” said Tom Potter, senior vice-president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Hilton Worldwide. “This agreement helps pave the way for further Homewood Suites by Hilton expansion opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America.”
Guests of the 11-storey Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo will be welcomed by an inviting open concept lobby that flows into an indoor/outdoor living room and dining terrace. The hotel will feature 120 spacious studio, one- and two-bedroom suites, all with fully equipped kitchens complete with microwave, full-size refrigerator, cooktop, cooking accessories and more.
Dining options will include a full-service bar and lounge space for breakfast, lunch and dinner; pantry with a kitchen look and feel offering ready-made snacks; and suite shop convenience store offering a variety of items for purchase.
Other amenities will include a fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool. The hotel will also offer flexible event space.
The hotel will be centrally located on Winston Churchill Ave., one of the most important avenues in the city, and across the street from Blue Mall in proximity to the area’s main businesses, shopping and entertainment.
Hilton Worldwide currently has two hotels open in the Dominican Republic – Hilton Santo Domingo and Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo. The company is actively pursuing additional growth opportunities in the Caribbean.
