Goway Plans Major Expansion, Gears Up For 50th
On the eve of its 50th year, Goway Travel plans to expand its team of Destination Specialists by 20 to 30% next year in line with its company growth goals.
2019 has already been a big year for Goway.
The company heavily invested in technologies including a new customer relationship management platform and also invested in a leading professional development program for their sales teams.
Goway also won a number of prestigious awards at industry events this year, and is currently planning a range of exciting activities and incentives to mark its 50th anniversary in 2020.
“To keep up with our business needs, Goway’s 2020 plans include a heavy focus on recruitment, specifically hiring Destination Specialists. It is our people that make our company successful,” says John Feenaghty, Goway chief operations officer, quoting one of the company’s philosophies, known as Goway Ways. “We are dedicated to developing our people and having the most qualified experts in the industry.”
Today, Goway offers vacation ideas to over 100 destinations, but its Destination Specialists are trained in one of the company’s six regions, such as Africa or Idyllic Islands.
“It’s important for us to ensure both our specialists and our travel agent partners have first-hand knowledge and visit the places we sell. This year we have offered FAM trips to destinations like India, Peru, Australia and New Zealand with more to come,” Feenaghty said.
Goway is recruiting both in-office in Toronto and Vancouver, as well as home-based staff across Canada and the USA.
Said Feenaghty: “Recognizing the industry trends towards more employees working at home, approximately 40% of our travel consultants work remotely, allowing us to cater to travel agents in multiple time zones. We continue to support that important component of our business.”
