Globus Puts the Spotlight on Off-Season Europe
The Globus family of brands is inviting travellers to discover the “other” sun this winter with an array of vacation packages in Southern Europe.
Best of all, note officials, the “slow” season in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece combine daytime average temperatures in the mid-teens Celsius, off-season savings and fewer crowds.
To this end, Globus has introduced its Escapes programs, offering a selection of 45 tours throughout Europe from under $130 per day (airfare not included). Eight of the tours feature Italy – including one dedicated to Sicily – while five others offer Spain or Portugal, or a combination of both. As well, there are seven tours to Greece, many with an Aegean cruise included.
The Escape tours are offered from November to March. Each features transportation on a modern WiFi-equipped coach with tour director to provide expert destination insights and to iron out any wrinkles that may occur. And, there are rooms with no single supplement available on every tour, on a first-come basis.
“There is no better way to feel like a local than by joining them in a sidewalk café, watching the passing parade,” says Stéphanie Bishop, managing director of the Globus in Canada and herself a firm convert to off-season touring. “Mingle with them at the market, browse through galleries and shops and enjoy wonderful dining – all without the crowds.”
