Get Lucky With Transat, Dominican Republic

A lucky travel agent and a companion can win a trip to Punta Cana courtesy of Transat Holidays and the Dominican Republic. The tour operator and the Dominican Republic’s tourist board have joined forces to launch a contest that offers an all-inclusive trip for two to the 4.5-star Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, with the prize including return airfare from the winner’s city of residence, transfers and a week’s stay in the all-inclusive resort.

“Canadians just love Punta Cana,” says Cossette Garcia, director of the Dominican Republic Tourist Promotion Office in Montreal. “Punta Cana has beaches that will literally take your breath away. I have seen it so often: Canadians arrive in Punta Cana straight from a cold winter and they arrive to our palapa-covered airport to the sounds of merengue and they begin to relax before they pick up their luggage.

“We think there is truly a special bond between our countries. Naturally most Canadians come to enjoy our wonderful weather and beautiful beaches, but we also believe that they keep coming back year after year because they develop a sense of security with our friendly people and they like the security of our resorts. Another draw for Canadians is our fantastic direct air lift to Punta Cana, La Romana and Puerto Plata. In just over four hours, Canadians are transported to a sunny, friendly place where they are welcomed warmly.”
