GBTA HAS NEW DIRECTOR FOR CANADA
The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) has announced the appointment of Nancy Tudorache to the position of director, operations for Canada. Tudorache will be responsible for developing GBTA Canada and overseeing the delivery of the association’s full program for membership, events, education, training and advocacy.
Tudorache most recently worked as director of sales and marketing for the luxury, boutique SoHo Metropolitan Hotel & Residences, based in Toronto. Having a successful 11-year tenure with Metropolitan Hotels’ collection, she has been responsible for leading the direct sales and marketing efforts across Canada’s key cities of Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and recent expansion into Ottawa. An active industry advocate, Tudorache has been a keen supporter and engaged volunteer of the relevant business travel industry associations in Canada for more than 15 years. Having been among the founding members of GBTA Canada’s Leadership Advisory Council and more recently as one of GBTA Canada’s Ambassadors-at-large, she is a recognizable face within the Canadian leadership circles of the travel industry.
Prior to her career within Metropolitan Hotels, Tudorache’s experiences span from managing a corporate travel agency to direct sales for a tour operator and management positions within a multi-national hotel vhain. Within GBTA, she will report directly to Paul Tilstone, senior vice-president, Global Operations, as Canada remains a region within the scope of Tilstone’s global direction including North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia, Africa and Europe. Tudorache’s tenure will begin Sept. 23.
