Focus on Vail
It was all things Vail last night during an industry reception in Toronto as tourism officials updated travel personnel on all things new, including the upcoming 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships to be held in Vail/Beaver Creek Feb. 2-15.
Held every two years and second only to the Olympics, the competition will feature 700 athletes from 70 nations. This is only the fourth time the championships have been held in North America, and the first time since 1999.
Other big news for Vail Resorts Inc. was the recent acquisition of Park City Mountain Resort in Utah, located next to Canyons Ski Resort, purchased last year by Vail Resorts.
