EXHIBIT APP DRIVES VISITS
A new online exhibition app by the BC Museum of Anthropology is generating a big jump in attendance at the museum. “The Safar Voyage: Contemporary Works by Arab, Iranian and Turkish Artists” show is now running and went online last April. By July, it was credited with driving an 11% increase in visitations to the museum so far in 2013. It showcases photography, video, mixed media, painting and weaving. This is the first web-based app created by the MOA for such a show. The exhibit info can be accessed on devices like tablets and smartphones while touring each gallery, or at home on a PC.
