Dominica Welcomes Inaugural Calls From Two More Ships

Royal Caribbean’s Rhapsody of the Seas and Silversea’s Silver Moon made their inaugural calls to Dominica on Dec. 2, 2022. To date, four (4) ships have made their inaugural call to the island. MV Evrima being the first inaugural visit on Nov. 24, 2022. To commemorate the occasion, plaque exchange ceremonies were held aboard the vessels between government officials and the captains.

As of Nov. 25, 2022, Dominica has received a total of thirteen (13) cruise calls. Together, the ships brought in 18,980 cruise passengers with 73% of passengers disembarking and 54% going out on tour.

With the peak of the 2022/2023 cruise season approaching, Dominica is expected to welcome fifty-one (51) cruise calls in the month of December. This signals a productive and profitable season for tourism and hospitality stakeholders who are heavily reliant on cruise sector activity.

Dominica is continuing its effort in the development and promotion of Dominica as a desirable cruise destination.
