A look at some real agent-booked destination weddings
Tying the knot in paradise

With guests coming from across North America and Europe, Sandra Gagic decided to work with a travel agent to simplify the booking process for her destination wedding – but it still didn’t go off without a hitch.
“We had bad luck, and our condo completely burned while we were in Punta Cana – four days before the wedding. Tell me about pre-wedding stress,” she exclaimed. “At that moment, I thought that the worst already happened and that my day has to be perfect no matter what, and that is the right world to describe it: perfect. The weather was great and everything went as planned.”
To this day, she says working with a destination wedding specialist ensured her guests got a great rate and allowed her to focus on the actual wedding day.
“I had no time to coordinate my guests’ bookings,” she says. “I already knew that I would have a complicated group, but she handled everyone’s requests and questions with so much professionalism and always kept control of the situation. My guests kept repeating to me that they enjoyed dealing with Sharon and that she was so easy to work with.”
Most importantly, since weddings aren’t easy to organize, she says it helped her stay sane.
“We had a live Serbian musician from Bosnia, Zuti, that kept our guests dancing all night,” she recalls. “Having our closest friends and family with us for the two weeks of our stay was a memorable experience for everyone, and they still talk about our wedding and how we had so much fun.”
