The Central Florida city of Kissimmee is spreading some Tidings of Comfort and Joy to those who dream of fleeing upcoming winter weather.
The city, a stone’s throw from Orlando, hosted an event in Toronto recently that featured a Christmas tree, a reminder that Christmas and winter are drawing nearer.
“The holiday season [in Kissimmee] is…amazing,” Juliana Cadiz of Experi-ence Kissimmee told the gathering, adding that winter visitors will be warm in her city.
Cadiz said Kissimmee lodging options include luxury resorts and Kissimmee is also the “vacation home capital of the world,” with those going that route able to find choices, among them two-bedroom homes and a 17-bedroom property that has a bowling alley and a lazy river.
Cadiz promised that visitors will find a “huge selection of outdoor activities,” among them airboat rides.
Kissimmee – which uses the tourism promotional slogan, We Make Closer to the Magic Vacations – is about 10 minutes from Walt Disney World and promotes quick access from Kissimmee to Orlando’s famed theme parks. Among area attractions is Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park, which invites visitors to “swing, climb and zip.”
“It’s just something different to do,” the park’s Pina Barbusci said of the above-ground experiences. “It is a physical activity but the average person can partake.”
Kissimmee is also 25 minutes from Orlando International Airport.
Swoop and Flair have decided to serve the area.
Cadiz reported that Margaritaville will be arriving in 2019. “There’s always something new in Kissimmee,” she added.
