Oakville, Ontario-based travel agency Uniglobe Adventure House Travel has merged with Vancouver-based Sea Courses Inc., a physician-owned and operated company specializing in medical and dental education cruises.
Founded in 1995, the company has planned and executed more than 250 continuing education courses at sea, giving time-challenged physicians and dentists the opportunity to keep their knowledge current while networking with peers and exploring exciting and enriching travel destinations.
Sea Courses Inc. was founded by Dr. Martin Gerretsen, director of Continuing Health Education and Harvey Strydhorst, president. Along with all staff, the pair will continue their pivotal roles in the merged operation.
Uniglobe Adventure House Travel is independently and Canadian-owned and operated by Ron Dawick (pictured), a travel industry leader with more than 40 years of retail, airline and tour operator management experience. The agency has served the needs of travellers since 1961 and features divisions specializing in corporate, leisure and group travel.
Dawick says the merger will offer tangible benefits for Sea Courses clients, many of whom have travelled with the company numerous times.
“This is a coming-together of two leaders in their fields. Sea Courses is the largest company of its kind in Canada and boasts very high repeat business, the ultimate indicator of customer satisfaction,” Dawick says.
“By joining forces we will expand the range of products to include things like river cruising and education at land-based resorts. Our Ontario location will increase hours of service and our specialization in corporate and leisure travel will allow Sea Courses to offer additional travel planning and advice to its customers.”
