The Turkish Culture and Tourism Office is bringing a taste of tradition and culture to Toronto with the mobile Turkish Coffee Truck travelling through the city this week (through April 2).
The truck will stop in various destinations in the city, inviting Toronto residents to discover the cultural significance and heritage surrounding Turkish coffee. The free coffee will be served in customary style.
Similar projects have been held in Europe and the United States.
The truck will visit some of Toronto’s busiest spots, such as Dundas Square, the University of Toronto, Nathan Philips Square and the CN Tower and will carry the slogan, “Turkish Coffee: The Taste of Friendship for 500 Years.” Those visiting the truck will also be treated to a “range of surprises” during the tour, such as Turkish Delight and information booklets on Turkey.
