Fresh on the heels of last year’s historic season, when Park City Mountain Resort in Utah joined forces with neighbouring Canyon Resort to become the largest ski retreat in the US, both mountains are now open and in business for the winter.

The US$50 million updated area now has 3,000 hectares, 300-plus trails, 41 lifts, eight terrain parks, six natural half pipes, one super pipe and one mini pipe.

Non-skiers can soak in the stardom of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, sample two dozen top restaurants or experience a snowshoe excursion to a hot spring in a volcano crater.
