Outer space enthusiasts will be keen to know that the newly developed Independence Plaza will open at the Space Center Houston in a few months.

The eight-storey-tall multiple-exhibit Independence Plaza complex features a space shuttle replica mounted on top of the first shuttle carrier aircraft, and will open on Jan. 23.

The Space Center Houston’s shuttle carrier aircraft, NASA 905, carried the various space shuttles some 223 times. Visitors can now see and enter both the aircraft (a converted B747) and a detailed replica of the shuttle mounted on top of it.
