Home Digital Extra post Goway to pay visa fees for Brazil-bound globetrotters

Whether heading to samba the night away or marvel at Iguassu Falls, Goway is picking up the bill for visa fees for clients travelling to Brazil.

Throughout November, Goway is offering Brazil-bound travellers a credit to offset the cost of the country’s hefty visa fee.

A political tool that often becomes a game of “tit for tat” between countries, visas catch Globetrotters up in their wake, becoming an added cost and hassle to travel. Some visas and the procedures to obtain them can even dissuade globetrotters from travelling to that country. One victim of its own policies is Brazil, where the lengthy and pricey visa process has deterred many visitors to South America from exploring its largest country.

While Goway Travel can’t change Brazil’s visa policy, the company is doing its part to ease the burden. For any Brazil booking made with Goway November, the company will cover the cost of the Brazil visa. This can be a saving of $120 – though as with all visa charges, there is the chance it will change by the time the traveller applies.

To be eligible for the credit, travellers need to submit their receipt for the issuing of the visa when confirming their booking. Goway will then deduct that amount from the trip price.

Goway cannot actually fill in the paperwork and submit the application. That’s still up to the traveller, as is the cost of any third-party application service. But the company will cover the visa fee.

Brazil will in fact soon be making the visa process easier. Effective Jan. 8, Canadian passport holders travelling to Brazil will be able to apply for their Brazilian visa via an electronic visa application, done online.
