CUBA HAS NEW MAN IN CANADA
The Cuba Tourist Board has a new director for English-speaking Canada. Newly arrived in the Toronto office is Gustavo Rodriguez Zaldumbide, who has a long tourism career. The multilingual Rodriguez Zaldumbide — who previously worked for Cuba\’s Gaviota tourism division — was praised by Jose Bisbe York of Cuba\’s Ministry of Tourism as someone who “knows very well Cuba product… We\’re sure he can do the job very well,” Bisbe York told a Toronto gathering. Meanwhile, Bisbe York said Cuba continues to see the number of Canadian visitors grow, with visitations up 2% through September. Some 1.2 million travelled from this country to Cuba in the first nine months of this year, 1.1 million of which held Canadian passports, he said.
