Crawford Gets Cooking at Sunwing
It took a couple of weeks, but Sunwing staff at the company’s Toronto airport area headquarters finally got a chance to see what all the fuss was about. During the last week of October, Sunwing unveiled its new Sunwing Café on board menu developed in partnership with Food Network Canada celebrity chef Lynn Crawford and yesterday (Nov. 16) Crawford was on hand at the office to meet company staff, pose for photos, and, more importantly, oversee a reception where one of her now Sunwing signature dishes was served.
Crawford touted the fresh ingredients, locally sourced in Canada, used in the meals, which can be ordered (along with other dishes) on board all Sunwing flights. As for the fact that the three dishes — pasta, short ribs and peameal bacon sandwich — bear “inspired by” branding, she laughed that “as much as I would like to be on every Sunwing flight, it is physically not possible” — hence the term “inspired by,” though she assured the recipes were truly hers.
“If you come to my house for dinner, I will cook that pasta!” she vowed.
