Choose Chicago hints at what to expect at IPW 2025

Choose Chicago has released details surrounding the key events taking place at IPW 2025.
Coming to Chicago June 14 – 18, the U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the largest international inbound travel trade show in the United States, bringing thousands of travel buyers and media from over 70 countries to Chicago to connect with U.S. travel exhibitors, generating media coverage and leading to future business. This year’s program will feature some of Chicago’s most iconic locations, including an opening night celebration at the Field Museum, a press brunch at Wrigley Field, a closing night party at Navy Pier, and the opportunity to explore Chicago’s neighbourhoods on open nights.

All business portions of IPW 2025, including more than 100,000 business appointments from June 16-18, will take place at McCormick Place, the largest and most flexible convention center in North America.

Key events at IPW

The following key events were announced:

Press Brunch: On June 15, members of the international travel press are invited to experience the unique traditions and charm of Wrigley Field, the second-oldest ballpark in the United States and beloved home of the Chicago Cubs for more than a century.

Opening Night: On the evening of June 15, IPW kicks off with Chicago’s House Party 2.0. This one-of-a-kind event will transform the Field Museum into a lively, interactive space, blending iconic Chicago sounds, art, and energy. Guests can enjoy pop-up performances, themed lounges, and food from local vendors while immersing themselves in the city’s rich cultural vibes.

Neighbourhood Activities: All attendees at IPW are invited to fully experience Chicago before, during, and after the event. To help facilitate these adventures, Choose Chicago is curating a unique, immersive neighbourhood experience featuring Hyde Park, Pilsen, and West Town on June 17.

Closing Night: On June 18, attendees are invited to get their kicks at the Closing Night celebration at Navy Pier to celebrate Chicago – the starting point of the legendary Route 66! Guests will explore a variety of immersive activations across the iconic Navy Pier, showcasing our city’s rich history and exploring the city’s diverse culinary scene while soaking in stunning lakefront views.

“Bringing IPW back to Chicago in 2025 is an exciting opportunity to spotlight one of America’s most iconic and energetic cities,” said Ellen Davis, Executive Vice President of Business Strategy and Industry Engagement at U.S. Travel Association. “Chicago is a place that blends bold innovation with deep cultural roots — and it’s the perfect stage to connect U.S. destinations with global buyers.
